If you enjoy Gangster Nation’s criminal character development and player rivalries, Mob Wars: LCN is a browser mafia RPG worth comparing. The main decision is whether you want another game with Gangster Nation’s particular competitive rules or a different way to build a mobster through Jobs, income and equipment.
Start with the differences in how you progress
Gangster Nation’s official guide describes a world of gang families, alliances and warfare. Its activities include crimes, vehicle theft, missions and heists. Its publisher also describes competition organised into rounds. Those rules shape how players plan their progress and choose their rivals.
LCN’s everyday activities revolve around your mobster: complete Jobs, choose where to put skill points, build property income and strengthen your mob’s equipment. The word “mafia” alone will not tell you which approach you prefer.
Three questions to ask before switching
- Which activities do you want to repeat? In LCN, start by trying Jobs and Fights. See whether earning experience, choosing skills and improving equipment gives you the progress you want.
- What kind of group do you want? Gangster Nation uses Families; LCN uses Syndicates. Compare what a group expects from you instead of assuming the two names mean identical activities.
- Which competition rules matter to you? Read the rules for rounds, character losses and events in the game you are choosing. Do not carry assumptions from one game into another.
How LCN’s Jobs, properties and equipment connect
Jobs give you cash and experience as you develop your character. Properties produce regular income, which helps fund your progress. Weapons, armour and vehicles become part of the equipment you collect for your mob.
That gives you several goals outside winning an individual Fight. You can work towards better income, improve the items available to your mob or develop a different part of your character. The equipment and properties guide explains those connections.

Playing with other people
A Syndicate gives you people to learn with and compete alongside. Before joining, ask whether it welcomes beginners and how active members are expected to be. Your first group should help you understand the game rather than leave you guessing about its expectations.
You still have your own mobster to develop. Complete the tutorial and get comfortable with Jobs and Fights before deciding which group suits you. See how LCN Syndicates work for the next step.
What to try in your first session
Follow the tutorial, inspect the equipment you earn and try an available Fight. Review the result and look at what you can improve. Those actions are a useful test of whether LCN offers the kind of mafia RPG you want.
You can play in your desktop browser without downloading anything, or use the mobile app. You will create a separate LCN character; your Gangster Nation progress does not carry over.
If your search also brings back memories of Facebook’s crime games, our Mafia Wars history and alternative guide explains another part of that era.
