What Happened to Kingdoms Live? A Fantasy RPG to Try

Kingdoms Live was Storm8’s fantasy multiplayer RPG, and the original app is no longer an official current download. If you remember building an army, collecting equipment and returning to the same character, this guide revisits that game and introduces Viking Clan as another world to explore.

Which Kingdoms Live are you remembering?

The Storm8 game arrived during the early iPhone RPG era. Its theme was a rise from a humble character to a powerful ruler, with an army, weapons, armor, spells and land. It was a menu-driven online game built around progress and other players, rather than directly steering a character through a 3D battlefield.

The word “kingdom” appears in many newer strategy games, so it helps to include Storm8 when looking for the original. A similar name or a castle on an app icon does not mean the account or gameplay is the same.

What happened to the original app?

The old Android listing is recorded as removed from Google Play on October 8, 2015. That documents the store removal; it should not be treated as proof of an exact server shutdown time. Older download listings can remain searchable long after an online game stops being a current service.

We have not verified a publisher explanation for why Kingdoms Live ended. Its disappearance is separate from whether you can still access a Storm8 account used for other titles.

Can Viking Clan replace the things you enjoyed?

Viking Clan is worth trying for fantasy character growth, allies, equipment and rival battles. Its Norse setting and rules are its own, so compare the activities rather than expecting a restored Kingdoms Live account.

  • Adventures: use Energy to earn experience, Gold and items while exploring locations.
  • Chieftains: recruit allies who contribute to Battles.
  • Warriors and Weapons: improve the equipment available to your Clan.
  • Empire income: buy properties that generate regular Gold income.
  • Guilds: find a team for shared goals and competition.

What should you do first in Viking Clan?

Follow the tutorial, complete an Adventure and read its requirements and rewards. Review your skill points, add Chieftains and inspect your Warriors and Weapons. Once you understand those basics, look for a Guild that welcomes new players.

Our Viking Clan beginner guide explains those first choices in more detail. You can play in a desktop browser or use the iPhone or Android app.

Will your old army or purchases transfer?

No. Viking Clan is a separate game. You create a new character and learn its systems from the beginning. Choose it because its activities suit you, rather than as a way to recover a retired game.
