The original Zynga game has closed. LCN is a separate mafia RPG with its own account and progress. It is a game to start today rather than a way to recover your old Mafia Wars character.

Start with Jobs, income and equipment
Follow the tutorial and complete the Jobs it introduces. Review the cash, experience and items you earn. As you develop your character, choose skills and learn how your equipment contributes to your strength.
Properties add regular income to support your progress. Building that income and collecting useful equipment gives you goals alongside winning individual Fights. Our LCN equipment and properties guide explains those connections.
Take on rivals and find a Syndicate
Try Fights against other players and read the results. Your skills, personal equipment and mob all matter. Review what you can improve before spending more resources on the same opponent.
A Syndicate gives you a group to learn with and compete alongside. Ask whether it welcomes beginners and how active members are expected to be. Start with a team that suits your routine rather than choosing only by rank.

Can you play in a browser or on mobile?
Play in your desktop browser with no download needed, or use the iPhone or Android app. The game button directs you to the appropriate destination for your device. Start with the tutorial and try Jobs and Fights before deciding where to focus.
Can you still play Mafia Wars or Mafia Wars 2?
The original Zynga Mafia Wars and its separate sequel Mafia Wars 2 have both closed. Neither should appear in a list of current games to start. Our Mafia Wars history guide explains the distinction between the original, its sequel and the later mobile release.
LCN does not restore accounts, purchases or items from those games. You begin with a new mobster and a new set of rivals.
